One Competition, Two Parts

Birth Photographer International Image Competition has been meticulously curated to cover as many bases as we possibly can. And whilst we understand we cannot meet the needs of every single human being, we sure as hell tried.

Our competition consists of two parts

  1. A free round that happens during the first half of the year to provide feedback to entrants and those who watch the judging livestream to prepare their images for the second half. This round also allows new judges to train and judge the competition.
  2. Paid entries during the second half of the year. This round has a scoring system that provides Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards. A challenge system is in place to allow for our judging panel to explore new dimensions to imagery and be inspired by each other. This way, entries can be viewed 3 dimensionally and the score can be increased if a peer sees it differently than the majority. These discussions are epic and worth their weight in gold. Due to high volume of entries, an extra $10 can be paid to receive individual feedback on your entries unless one of your images is challenged, you can see the conversation unfold on a livestream.

The Birth Photographer Image Competition was created because a gap was identified in our genre of photography. Photographers have voiced their disapproval of having images rejected from mainstream competitions, being disqualified due to nudity and overall not having other competitions accepting of our genre of photography.

Birth Photographer has heard you loud and clear.

We have created a system that rewards photographers individually as well as on an over-all scale. To win, you can’t just have pretty images. You must also submit a peer review as well as business review.

This also gives other photographers the opportunity to judge and learn more about award images preparation, colour space, judging techniques etc.

Why should you enter?

Feedback

In the Birth Photographer International Image Competition, we offer unparalleled feedback as you’ve never seen it before. All of our judging is live-streamed, giving you the opportunity to follow along live. During the First Part, entries are free and so is feedback. During part two, there is an entry fee for up to 5 images and $10/image for feedback.

Media Exposure

We contact media for you with a Media Release to help your SEO links and backlinks to be seen. There is nothing better than sharing a win with the world. You deserve it, babe.

Meet New People

I have forged some of the BEST relationships with people I have met during an awards process. Get ready to create a new hub of people that believe in you and love you.

Beginner Friendly

If you have never entered a competition before and have no idea where to start, this is the place to start. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. With no monetary investment, you’ll leave knowing exactly what you can do to improve your images and make them even better. This leaves you more confident to enter the second part, enabling you to be able to bet on yourself.

ONE Image Is Judged At A Time

No more having judges look at hundreds of entries and picking their fave based on the others. This is designed to SEE the artist that is in front of judges. We are basing our feedback on what is in front of us, not what it should have been or could have been.

Judging Diversity

The team has curated a team of judges that represent diversity and give unbiased feedback. Our panel at all times will consist of judges from all different views, walks of life, and experience. This competition was created to discover new talented artists. (pssst that’s you!)

We understand that sometimes photographers can be die-hards with their technical skill, so a challenge system is in place to help bring us back to earth to remind us that sometimes the moment is worth more than the technical skill. Diversity and unbiased opinions are important to use to ensure fair judging.
